IF Alvaro Arbeloa sounded arrogant after Saturday’s Ipswich capitulation, then the Fulham boss was full of contrition before he fights for his job against Hull City.

Arbeloa admitted his substitutions may have cost his side the match in that disastrous 2-1 defeat at Portman Road - 'maybe I was wrong. Maybe we lost the game not because of the players but because of me. I can accept that analysis'.

And he also apologised if fans are unhappy that he doesn’t applaud travelling fans after away matches, nor head towards the Hammersmith End to acknowledge supporters after home games – claiming that these moments should be about the players and not himself.
