SIMON MORGAN was at Craven Cottage for so long that he played with both Gordon Davies and Louis Saha – the two greatest Fulham strikers of the last 50 years and two men who seem to be from completely different eras.
But then, as Morgan looks back on an 11-year stint which included more than 400 appearances, three promotions and a dismal relegation to the basement division, he says ‘it didn’t feel like 11 years at one club, it feels like two completely different clubs’.
He was the captain who led Fulham to hell and back – to 91st place in the Football League, then to the brink of the Premier League.
