EMILE SMITH ROWE is quick to agree with a widely-held belief among the Craven Cottage faithful: that Fulham fans have not seen the best of him yet.
A club-record £34million signing from Arsenal in the summer of 2024, the attacking midfielder is yet to truly ignite in white.
After a promising start under Marco Silva, with three goals in his first 11 Premier League appearances, a couple of niggling injuries halted his progress before Smith Rowe spent last season in and out of the starting line-up.
At 25, Smith Rowe is too old to be regarded as a promising youngster but too young to be referred to as a ‘former England international’ – even though four years have passed since the last of his three senior caps.
