IT doesn’t get much more dramatic than a sudden-death penalty shoot-out for a bonus point in the National League Cup.
And, dear reader, I come to you with the glad news that I witnessed Fulham’s Under-21s prevail 6-5 in such a contest, after a 1-1 draw against AFC Hornchurch on Tuesday night.
All joking aside, this was a decent test for Charlie Daniels’ side and the boss declared his side ‘excellent from start to finish’ – especially as Fulham were missing three players on international duty.
Those included the highly promising Chibby Nwoko, the very tidy midfielder who made his first-team debut as a sub in the Carabao Cup win over Wimbledon and earned his first senior cap for Nigeria on Tuesday.
