IT was always a shot in the dark to appoint Alvaro Arbeloa as Fulham boss. Just three games in and we fear the outcome might be a self-inflicted bullet wound to the noggin.
This was a disaster class in self-destruction as a Crystal Palace side decimated by injuries and exits stole away with their fourth win at Craven Cottage in a little over 18 months.
Fulham conceded three ugly goals – the two second-half efforts were a schoolboy shambles - as Arbeloa got his starting line-up wrong and his substitutions even wronger.
At the final whistle, Arbeloa and his players were booed and serenaded with a chorus of 'what the f***ing hell was that?' It was a very good question.
